He doesn’t need parental consent because he is over the age of 16.

You need to have "green card" to be legally registered as immigrant to U.S. Don`t have to be a citizen.

I’ve heard both yes and no answers on this from friends, so lets see if anyone actually knows;
In Ontario, can you use a birth certificate and photo ID (like a school ID) at a club entrance to prove you’re 19 and get in??
I dont have any valid ID, and will be 19 soon. Some people say I’ll be fine using that, others say not, and I dont wanna risk it unless I know. Does anyone actually KNOW in Ontario if a birth certificate works for ID?

I think you always need photo ID, one of my friend’s tried using a birth certificate but they wouldn’t let him. I’m from the UK though so not sure exactly what the rules are over there sorry.

Some netbooks are light enough to carry easily in one hand. A wrist lanyard would secure against accidental drops without a significant weight penalty. The security slot provides a structurally rigid attachment point.

Good idea but I have never seen one included with a kensington lock. Try Targus.

I am making reservations for a 6 year old and an 8 year old. I will be traveling with them. They have no identification — other than birth certificates. Do we need to bring the birth certificates, something else, or not worry about it?

If you are the adult traveling with the children, they don’t need anything if they’re under 18, and traveling domestic. International travel will require at least a passport. Government-issued, valid photo ID is recommended for children, but if it’s not available, and a verified adult is traveling with the children, they are OK.

i recently bought a hp laserjet 1020 printer.

i am testing it out and there is a little residue on the printed papers and there is occasionally lines.

is this the printer or the toner?

will replacing the toner fix the problem or should i take it back?

id appreciate the feedback, thanks

I had the same problem but with my Samsung printer but what i did which i think you should is to take out the toner and just shake it a little to even it out because thats what causes the residue.

I need to make a good ID card. Clubs will not accept IDs in butterfly pouches because they are not PVC ID cards. Some Epson inkjet printers have a tray for printing on specially coated CDs and DVDs. If the tray was modified to hold a blank ID card, could they print on them?

Joseph is right. ID card printers cost $2,000 to $10,000 and without them it is very difficult to make good ID cards. I believe the States issue PVC ID cards because they know that almost no one can afford to purchase such a printer to make an ID card.

You can scan, modify, and print a state issued driver license on card stock and it looks really good. However, it will not fool anyone because when they feel it, they can tell it is not a PVC card. Also, you cannot copy the halograms and clubs know to look for those.

To print on a PVC card with an inkjet printer the card has to have a special coating for inkjet printers or the ink will smear. It is possible to buy the liquid to apply to the cards. Youtube has a video making a fake ID card using an Epson printer and if you google "how to make ID cards" or "Create a new Identity" and include the quotations you will fine a web site that explain some methods that are too lengthy to describe here.

Good luck and I wish you success. However, sadly it is not as easy as it should be to acquire acceptable identification.

I have this power supply with 19A each on 3 rails,
http://www.coolermaster.co.uk/product.php?product_id=2573,
and also this graphics card,
http://www.zotac.com/httpdocs/brochures/vga/ZT-20101-10P_GTS-250-512MB_v1.pdf,

The problem is the PC cant even start with it inside, its like trying to start a car with a dead battery. It powers fine without the card. I guess the power supply is weak. Am I right to buy another more powerful power supply, any recommendation for one is welcome. Thanks

The power supply is ample.

Make sure that the additional 8 pin power at the rear of the card is connected properly.

Try swapping rails, I’ve had success with this in the past…
A PSU tester would be useful…

Can you try the card in another PC?
This might put the card in the clear, or mot – as the case may be…

Good Luck!

Study: White males hit hardest by Georgia job losses
new study shows white males are bearing the burden of job losses in Georgia, contradicting conventional thought that minorities typically suffer more from unemployment during down economic times.
The study released by the Georgia Department of Labor on Tuesday examined joblessness among black men and women, and white men and women. It found the number of men of any race drawing unemployment insurance increasing 160 percent from December 2007 through May.
Among white males, it increased 211 percent, to 51,562 men. That’s compared to a 78.8 percent increase for black females — the smallest increase in unemployment benefit claims among any of the four groups studied.
The study links the male job losses to cuts in the construction and manufacturing industries

Clayton County, a thriving majority Black suburb of Atlanta, Georgia has got a huge problem. Clayton County School System is the first system in the United States in the last 40 years to lose its accreditation.
For those incapable of reading those last paragraphs clearly, in Pre-Obama America – a country that Black people repudiated on November 4, 2008 by a margin of 96-1 – Black people were able to have snipers put on a roof and point their weapons at recently fired white police officers.
This is not a joke. Black people, led by Sheriff Victor Hill in 2005, celebrated the “liberation” of Clayton County from white rule and into the worthy hands of Black people dominion.
But the celebratory moment in the land of Tara where Margaret Mitchell set her 1936 novel, ”Gone With the Wind,” has been all but eclipsed by the uproar over the new sheriff’s mass firing of 27 supervisors, deputies and correction officers, many of them white. They had been summoned by their new boss, Sheriff Victor Hill, to the Clayton County Jail on Monday under the pretext of being sworn in. Instead, they were relieved of their weapons, badges and official cars by armed colleagues and offered rides home in prisoner vans under the eyes of snipers posted on the roof.”

The FBI’s report of a double-digit rise in violent crime in Clayton County stings a community already reeling from lost school accreditation and a staggering foreclosure rate.
It also foreshadows a possible spiraling out of economic control.

Violent crime in Clayton rose by 21 percent in 2007 to 1,366 reports, up from 1,126 in 2006, according to the federal report.

It’s only one example of the reverse-race issue in America.

I dont know what to say but I live in Georgia and it sometimes seems like what you are describing from my perspective perhaps.

Is there a program that could help u make your own id photo?
well i never liked the results when they take the picture for me, but the requirements are little a different, would the stores change it for me if i requested it?

Your web cam will take a pix and your printer will print it.
~
But why bother? Passport picture places are everywhere and they are cheap.

it doesn’t even have to be a drivers license, just a photo id. can you use your tax id number to get a photo id? thanks! :)

no rude answers, please.
ps. if this is in a totally different category than it should be, i apologize, i had no idea where to put it.

you can get a state ID with a birth certificate and a passport or other form of ID, when I took a bunch of teens to the DMV for state IDs they showed their birth certificates and school ID’s, anything that is National recognized,
you can call them in the morning, they may take a car title or medical records, something from college or HS, maybe a diploma?
I live in a back state though, so our laws are a little more easy I think then others, but if you call, just ask what 2 forms can you use?
I do know it has to be 2, not one,
a birth certificate great, but they really want something with a picture/photo on it.
Good Luck, you really do need one, of some kind. God Bless, hope you find out.

I’m planning on joining the air force after I finish college. I just curious if they give free stuff, because I need a lanyard neck strap. I figure the air force has some nice ones. Your probably thinking this is a dumb question, but i need to talk to one sooner or later. So I figure if I can get a lanyard now, why wait?

if the recruiter has some on hand, sure. just ask. but ask a few questions about joining as well, so you don’t look like a hobo. LOL

Hello,
I am a badge collector and am looking to add to my collection. I want to get a badge from a town I grew up in, but I cant get one made because every company says I need police identification. I saw there was a law posted that says collector badges may only be used for collection, and that is my sole purpose. Where can I go to get a custom badge made where I don’t need police identification, and that I can use for collection? Thanks!

Try talking to the police in that town? Possible they have something.

If the printer is using liquid ink, you can open it up, take out the ink cartridge, and shake it to listen and guesstimate how much you have left. If you start to see streaks and lines in your printed material, thats when you’re running out.

Where do I get a Proof of Age card OR a Photo ID card from in Sydney, NSW?

I am in my 40’s, so obviously this is not school or uni student related.

I don’t have a drivers licence and I don’t have a passport.

But I need some sort of Photo ID for personal reasons.

I thought the RTA supplied them but according to their website they stopped issuing them in 2008.

I have done a Google search but am just going around in circles.

Can anyone offer guidance?

Thank you.

The NSW Proof of Age card has been replaced by the NSW Photo card and you still get them from the RTA:
http://www.rta.nsw.gov.au/licensing/photocard.html

The application form is RTA 1359:
http://www.rta.nsw.gov.au/publicationsstatisticsforms/downloads/45071151.pdf
Simply return the completed form to the motor registry with appropriate proof of identity documents, proof of residential address and the administration fee which is $44.

I got my driving licence nearly 10 years ago, and despite the fact I’m 28 this year, I still get asked for ID all the time when I go out because I look pretty young. How do I get a little credit card stylee photo ID (I only have A4 paperwork at the moment), and how much will it cost?

Thank you!

If you have an old style driving licence, then you should be able to obtain a photo licence for free.
You should obtain a photo from one of the photo kiosks at your local supermarket, or send a recent photo (head and shoulders only). You will need to have the photo certified by somone who has known you for at lease 2 years. This could be your local Postmaster, Doctor, Dentist, Optician, anyone in authority or professional status. You can obtain a form to send off from your local Post Office or download a form from the DVLA website. The DVLA will then send you a photo licence and this will also be your ID for future use.

I need government proof of photo ID for a disclosure so i can get a job, i need it by the end of the week. I have no form of ID apparent from my birth certificate and national insurance card.

Some banks offer a photo id credit card. Perhaps that might be a simple way. Either that or apply for a passport even if you are not intending to travel.

I’m trying to get a copy of my W-2 online with adp but I need my employee identification number, not employer number, but my own id number, without my checkstub? Where can I get that info?

If your employee ID number isn’t your SSN, you’ll have to ask at your job what it is. If it’s not your SSN, maybe it’s on one of your pay stubs.

I don’t own a printer, which is stupid of me. I emailed the confirmation page to myself, just in case, but I was wondering if I have to print it out in order to get the boarding pass. Am I all right showing my ID at the ticket counter? Or should I write down all the page info, so I can tell them the ticket number and all of that?

Driving is so much easier.

You just need to show your ID. You do need to know your flight number, or at least the time of departure if it is not a very large airport.

It would not be a bad idea if you wrote down the confirmation number.

It’s also good to bring a major credit card. The automated check in machines can read your name off the card and look up your flight from that (doesn’t charge anything to the card; just reads your name off the magnetic stripe on the back). You’re probably bringing a credit card anyway.

If every individual recieving any government benifit is given a national ID complete with fingerprints (snce they can’t be forged) and ID must be verified in person every 3 months to continue benifits, would this help eliminate the amount of $$ that is stolen from the taxpayers every year?

I suppose every bit helps. It would help control some that’s done by maintaining different identities in different states. But the task of verification every three months would be far more trouble than its worth and would probably be completely impractical.

I have a emahcines with a 250w power supply computer here: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=9999111700050017&st=emachines&lp=4&type=product&cp=1&id=pcmprd111800050017

and i was wondering what good 512mb video card could i get without upgrading or changing the power supply. maybe a video card that could run cod4 and crysis no problem.

Thank you very much

According to the specs for that system at BestBuy, your Emachines has an available PCIExpress 16x slot for graphics cards.

For a 250-watt power supply, I recommend sticking with a graphics card that draws under 75 watts of electrical power. That means either the nVidia 9500GT or the ATI Radeon HD4670.

Hope this helps.
