I leave for california on dec 1st and was wondering, the only photo id i have is a united states army future soldier id card, and my social security card. will that work when they ask for "a photo id"? i also have an expired passport as well, thank you. and if it wont work, what else can i use?
You don’t actually need ID to fly. However, TSA has to be able to verify your identity if you don’t have ID.
Take with you the IDs you list and get to the airport extra early to allow time for them to verify your identity.
When you get to security simply hand them your passport and boarding pass. You may not have any problems at all unless the passport photo really doesn’t look like you.
The below is from: http://www.tsa.gov/travelers/airtravel/acceptable_documents.shtm
"Passengers who do not or cannot present an acceptable ID will have to provide information to the Transportation Security Officer performing Travel Document Checking duties in order to verify their identity. Passengers who are cleared through this process may be subject to additional screening. Passengers whose identity cannot be verified by TSA may not be allowed to go through the checkpoint or onto an airplane."
Note that the info on the TSA website does not actually say an ID can’t be expired.

The ink from my photo id has smudged onto the photo id holder on my wallet. Is there a way to remove the ink from the plastic?
try rubbing alcohol or aqua net hair spay on the end of a q-tip.

I work in pretty stuffy office. We wear ID cards on lanyards around or necks. I like to spice things up and wear unusual lanyards to wear at work. For instance, I found a Ramones lanyard that is great, but I’d like to find more odd, kitschy, subversive or downright weird lanyards. Anyone have any suggestions of places – particularly on-line where I can find them? (Can’t be too racy though.)
You can get laynards anywhere, with any theme, but it’s more fun to make them. That way, you express your personality and have a little fun at the office.
My colleague comes to work with "theme" laynards that are so much fun. She makes the lanyards using kits she buys on the internet (she buys the clips – do a search on "lanyard clips" on Froogle). For Valentines Day, she strung together plastic heart beads she got at the dollar store. For St. Patrick’s day, she braided green shoelaces together and put a couple of shamrock pins on it. For the Christmas holiday season, she actually found some tiny beads that look like Christmas tree lights and wired them (with a battery pack) so that they blink. For July 4th… well, you get the idea. I’ve even seen her make a lanyard out of candy necklaces wound around long phosphorus-filled plastic tubes (Halloween) that glow. For kitsch, try the "Oriental Trading Catalog", or orientaltrading dot com.
I’m not so daring (or resourceful). I simply went to my university’s site and purchased two — one with the university’s name, the other with its mascot theme.

I need your help answering this question for an assignment. What are the issues relating to terminology, law, and identification of mental retardation?
lets put it like this they think people like me with metal retardation can not commit a crime unless someone helps us. which is untrue

Are officials accepting and issuing anonymous ID cards with such address even in this era?
What if they are officially issuing the ID without any validation of a residence or any photo ID proof? What is the best way to deal with their incompetence?
no its one less way big brother can keep track of you.

im looking for a power supply to run a Ati 4890 but i cant find one that has the dual 6pin pci-e connctors that the card requires, i want something not over 100$
here is the card
http://www.bestbuy.com/site/XFX+-+ATI+Radeon+HD+4890+1GB+DDR5+PCI+Express+2.0+Graphics+Card/9566025.p?id=1218125775469&skuId=9566025&st=Ati%205770&cp=1&lp=6
Here you go, all priced under $100 with two 6 pin PCI connectors. For bling value and modular cabling go with Kingwin, for ultra quiet go with the Thermatake. For price and a lil bling value and a neat feature, go with the Apevia. It has blue cables and manually adjustable fan speed controller to help balance between heat and noise.

This seems like a lot of info to me that I hesitate to give to anyone I don’t know, and was wondering if this is status quo these days.
I had to send in that information when I applied for a Capital One credit card. It was my first card and I didn’t have any credit before than (no student loans, car loans, etc.).
They needed it to verify who I was.

In Michigan I heard a lot of Dems complaing that if people had to show id’s that this was just the republicans trying to supress the voters who are pro Democrat. Are the Democrats saying that their voters don’t know how to get a photo id? In the last Michigan election over 60 dead people voted, I would think this would be a good enough reason for everyone to want to stop voter fraud.
It’s not voter suppression.
Do people have so many outstanding arrest warrants that they don’t dare swing by DMV to get a state ID? I don’t think so.
The Constitutional right to vote is not blocked by mere verification of eligibility, any more than the Constitutional right of a citizen to return to the United States is blocked by the requirement to present a passport upon return.
The only argument I have seen that holds ANY water is the fee issue. If ID is mandatory, an acceptable form of ID should be provided free of charge — otherwise it’s a poll tax and adversely affects the poor.

is possessing a fake press pass illegal?
if it has the name of a real newspaper/agency?
if the name on the pass isn’t yours?
if you use the pass to gain entry to an event?
my friend works for the AP, and i scanned his press pass (with his permission). i took out all identifying info, put in a fake name, and printed it up nicely. then i glued on a passport photo from walgreens, laminated it, and attached a neck lanyard. i even "aged" it a little so it looks like i’ve had it for a while.
all in all, it looks awesome…reeeally awesome!
combined with a vest, and the right attitude, i think this pass could definitely get me into some cool shooting situations.
i’m considering making another with my real name, since my biggest concern is the legality of using a false name. any help??
thanks,
wiley snap
p.s. i’m not looking for any moral guidance here. please limit replies to legal issues.
illegal.
If nothing else if you are discovered inside a place you have no right to be in you are trespassing. But I am sure you would be breaking several other laws.

I am looking to print identification cards for my school club. What is a good program to use with a card printer that is fairly easy and inexpensive to print ID cards ?
In my experience it is Corel Draw.

I’m trying to make fake credit cards for my son’s themed birthday party
Your best bet is to print on a heavy paper (a card stock will do) and the have them laminated. Trying to run any kind of plastic through an inkjet printer will jam the printer. Even if you could run the plastic through the printer, plastic requires special inks. Inkjet ink will smudge/not dry on plastic. You might even consider just printing on a good quality photopaper for inkjet printers, then getting the fake id cards laminated. That will give you some thickness for the cards and also makes sure they are glossy both from the paper and the lamination. Many office supply stores offer laminating services as well as printing and copying services.

I know the scheme is virtually dead, but Gordon Brown still seems determined that we will have to give him our personal data. If the cards will be of no more deterrent to terrorists than our passports are, then what is the point in spending billions of pounds of our money on it?
No, ID Cards will do nothing more than make government more intrusive in our private lives. ID Cards will not make it more difficult for terrorists, it will simply be one more inconvenience for citizens.
