I live in Nevada and I got neither my driver’s permit or license. I did however get my identification card this year. I was reading that the issuance of an identification card will automatically surrender your driving privileges. What does this mean? Does it mean that I can’t drive?

You can’t have both a driver’s license and ID card. So if you get an ID card, you’re not legally allowed to hold a driver’s license, which means you’re not allowed to drive. If you want to drive, you must surrender your ID card, which makes you eligible to hold a license.

I have recently designed new photo IDs for my organization. They were designed, originally, for the standard laminated paper/oak tag format, but now we are looking into plastic cards.

As we cannot afford to buy a card printer just for a few staff IDs, we have been found another company, who has such a printer and is willing to print our IDs for us.

The IDs are complete, including name, photograph, and vital information, and are saved as bmp and jpg files, to be printed onto the card stock and cut. Since they are complete already, my question is …do we have to use that company’s program to re-create the cards and insert the photographs and information? Or, is it like any other printer, where we can simply open a bmp or jpg file and tell it to print to that printer? Our IDs are already the same size as the other company’s plastic blanks.
What I’m hoping to do is just send them a bunch of jpgs or bmps, rather than have to inconvenience their ID guy with having to create and complete each one again.

You will need to use their program.
Their printer is most likely not on your office network so you need to bug their ID guy. He most likely has little work to do and stretches it out to a full day so he should be able to absorb the extra work. I would send a pizza his way for the effort.

You will get 2 insurance cards for you car insurance.
You keep 1 copy in the car – this is in case you allow someone to drive your car and they are involved in an accident.
The other copy,you keep with your drivers license since most police ask for license and insurance when they pull you over.

The copy you leave in the car should be with the registration papers.
