We are going to Florida and we live in Colorado, I have two children ages 5 and 2. Will they need to have a photo ID in order to fly? Do they need anything else along with it?
See site below to see that children under 18 are not required to have i.D. for domestic flights.
I’ve heard both yes and no answers on this from friends, so lets see if anyone actually knows;
In Ontario, can you use a birth certificate and photo ID (like a school ID) at a club entrance to prove you’re 19 and get in??
I dont have any valid ID, and will be 19 soon. Some people say I’ll be fine using that, others say not, and I dont wanna risk it unless I know. Does anyone actually KNOW in Ontario if a birth certificate works for ID?
I think you always need photo ID, one of my friend’s tried using a birth certificate but they wouldn’t let him. I’m from the UK though so not sure exactly what the rules are over there sorry.
it doesn’t even have to be a drivers license, just a photo id. can you use your tax id number to get a photo id? thanks!
no rude answers, please.
ps. if this is in a totally different category than it should be, i apologize, i had no idea where to put it.
you can get a state ID with a birth certificate and a passport or other form of ID, when I took a bunch of teens to the DMV for state IDs they showed their birth certificates and school ID’s, anything that is National recognized,
you can call them in the morning, they may take a car title or medical records, something from college or HS, maybe a diploma?
I live in a back state though, so our laws are a little more easy I think then others, but if you call, just ask what 2 forms can you use?
I do know it has to be 2, not one,
a birth certificate great, but they really want something with a picture/photo on it.
Good Luck, you really do need one, of some kind. God Bless, hope you find out.
I need government proof of photo ID for a disclosure so i can get a job, i need it by the end of the week. I have no form of ID apparent from my birth certificate and national insurance card.
Some banks offer a photo id credit card. Perhaps that might be a simple way. Either that or apply for a passport even if you are not intending to travel.
When i was searching for a new computer i saw this feature on some laptops. When you open the lid the webcam activates and will photo id you essentially. Is this something that is available on DV6-1030US? If so, how do i use it?
This site will tell you what it comes with

I don’t want to carry my passport around in case I loose it, I don’t drive or have any other Photo ID, but I get the impression it would be best to carry ID. Is there anything I can apply for that is accepted internationally?
Not really.
Photo drivers licence is the usual in the US, as most people don’t have or need a passport (ell, untill recently, you now need one to go to canada)
as a tourist (you’re accent kinda gives it away), it will be fine to say its back at the hotel. for entrance to clubs, then yes.. passport or drivers licence showing you are over 21.
In the past what I have done, for genearl ID, is to have a photocopy. If they want to see the original, then whoever is interested, can take me back to the hotel OR they can phone the hotel to confirm I am staying there.
Clubs… will probably want the original, but try it anyway.. or use your less improtant drivers licence (easier/cheaper to replace and you can still leave the country !)
I am an Indian citizen. Do I still have to show a photo ID card in a hotel?
It depends. Upto my knowledge, NO
I’m going to order my tickets online and have them mailed to my house. When I get to the station will I have to present valid photo id, since no one over the age of 18 will be traveling with me?
Same answer as for your question about Amtrak, but it will be the bus leaving without you.
I am a us citizen and have to move to chennai,India. But have a major problem.Everywhere I go I am asked for photo Id to show proof of residence.Only acceptable forms are ration card, drivers license, voter id .What are we to do to get phone ,gas connection etc.Help!!!!1
Well i did try using my passport and house document but they want both in one.
As you are a US citizen than at most of the places your passport shall serve the purpose. Regarding your current residence proof, you can give the copy of contract of landlord where you are staying.
How do you cross the border to canada without a photo ID and only a Birth Certificate? Any tips from frequent crossers is preferred. I’m traveling with a full Canadian resident.
I only have my birth certificate. And I’m 18.
I am 100% sure I could not get into the USA without proper identification, so why would anyone get into Canada without it?
The ink from my photo id has smudged onto the photo id holder on my wallet. Is there a way to remove the ink from the plastic?
try rubbing alcohol or aqua net hair spay on the end of a q-tip.
In Michigan I heard a lot of Dems complaing that if people had to show id’s that this was just the republicans trying to supress the voters who are pro Democrat. Are the Democrats saying that their voters don’t know how to get a photo id? In the last Michigan election over 60 dead people voted, I would think this would be a good enough reason for everyone to want to stop voter fraud.
It’s not voter suppression.
Do people have so many outstanding arrest warrants that they don’t dare swing by DMV to get a state ID? I don’t think so.
The Constitutional right to vote is not blocked by mere verification of eligibility, any more than the Constitutional right of a citizen to return to the United States is blocked by the requirement to present a passport upon return.
The only argument I have seen that holds ANY water is the fee issue. If ID is mandatory, an acceptable form of ID should be provided free of charge — otherwise it’s a poll tax and adversely affects the poor.
Does a Certificate of Indian Status count as Photo ID, and can it be used to purchase liquor? I’ve heard it works by some people, but can anyone for sure clarify that it works in a Liquor store in BC? I’m turning 19 but I won’t get my BC ID for a week after my B-Day, lol.
I would appreciate any clarification.
Yes it counts. However it needs to be current and not expired. And some of the old ones don’t have an expiry date ARE therefore expired. you also need a second piece of ID, that doesn’t need a photo.
Do you need a professional photo ID when you apply for a passport or would just a digital photograph work as long as all the requirements were met?
It’s better to have a professionally taken passport photo because they know the exact requirements needed and if the Passport office says the photo is unnacceptable you should be able to take it back and request that the photo shop redo it for free.
If you do it yourself you have to make sure that the picture doesn’t look too grainy, has decent quality inks, paper and of course meet all the other requirements that the passport office likes you to meet (size of head, lighting, glare on glasses, angle of head etc).
My wife dose not have a photo id.Is there any other option left for her to travel.
Is she wanting to travel domestically within the US? Or within Canada? Australia? England? South Africa? Maybe within Brazil, but you’re just asking the question in English for some reason?
Different countries have different laws. So the answer could be yes or no, depending on which country you’re talking about. We have no way of knowing where in the world you live.
We are in the Toronto area and we are planning a trip to Myrtle Beach, someone just told us that we might not be able to because we don’t have photo id for our kids. our kids are 5 and 2 do they really need photo id now?
thanks.
No, children do NOT need photo I.D.! Your photo I.D. must be a gov’t issued photo I.D. like a drivers license, and kids can’t get those. Just bring their birth certificates. Read the site below CAREFULLY. It says persons over age 19 must present a passport OR other proof of citizenship, like a birth certificate AND a gov’t issued photo I.D. If you are FLYING into the U.S.. ALL of you must have passports.
I am a student pilot but i need to have a government issued photo ID in order for me to fly by myself i don’t have my Drivers permit yet and would honestly rather fly before i drive. but i need to get a photo id very quickly i am going to the DMV tomorrow i was just wondering how long it would take? can they give it to me on the spot?
Its a lot quicker than it used to be. When I changed addresses twice over the last 6 years I got mine within a week and a half to two weeks. When I first got my drivers license in 1996 it took 6 weeks to get.
I dont have an photo id whatsoever but i need to get my drivers license.
do they id you when you get it?
also if they do, what photo id could i get with just my sin card and birth certificate?
first person that commented didn’t get it.
i was asking if you need to already own photo id to get your drivers license…you know to prove who you are before they give you it.
I would say your SIN card and birth certificate as sufficient, as what 16 year old, going for their license for the first time ever has photo ID? Except maybe a student card…………as one cannot use their Health Card as a valid form of ID for purposes such as that. Best bet would be to call the licence bureau in your area direct, and ask them what you need, so you do not show up there, wait in that ridiculously long line (how can so many people always be there?) just to find out you needed something that you didn’t bring.
Good luck on your licence, and remember that driving is a privilege, not a right.
These things is required when check-in for flight, but I don’t know what is photo ID.
They just need to know you are who you say you are. Usually a driver’s license is enough.
I have to give my photo id to employer just to validate that I will be taking tests from my home with webcam and not anybody else. They have never seen me. I have old college id card which is not valid anymore. I don’t want to give them license or passport copy because it has my signature. What do you think should I give my expired id as form of identification?
You need to verify with them what is acceptable forms of ID. I think it is unlikely they will accept an expired college ID; most companies require valid driver’s license or passport
The pros and cons of getting an industrial bar.
Sorry I kept looking down. I wrote little notes down so I could remember to tell you everything.
Picture of my industrial bar right after getting it pierced. The picture is kind of disgusting. You can see the dried blood, permanent marker, and the vasaline.

More Information:
When I went to get my nose pierced first the she took my mother’s and my photo I.D. you have to be at least 15 to get any piercing. Then what I did was sign an agreement stating that I understand the risks and cannot sue the establishment if the piercing gets infected and so forth. Their certification should be somewhere on the wall if you don’t trust the piercer. Most body piercings are done in tattoo shops.

Secretaries of State Debra Bowen of California and Robin Carnahan of Missouri on Voting Issues in a Year of Soaring Turnout
We speak to the top election officials from two states—California Secretary of State Debra Bowen and Missouri Secretary of State Robin Carnahan—about some of the contentious issues facing the American electorate ahead of the November presidential election. Earlier this week, the Supreme Court upheld an Indiana law requiring voters to show photo identification. Many Democrats and civil rights groups have opposed the law, saying it is a thinly veiled effort to suppress elderly, poor and minority voters, those most likely to lack proper ID and who tend to vote for Democrats. Because of my job I have to take pictures of photo ID’s (Drivers licenses, State ID cards, school ID cards etc.) to keep on file. Does anyone know what settings will be best on this camera. 9 times out of 10 the pictures are taken indoors.
The key is lighting (no pun intended!), not the settings. Are you using multiple flashes? I’ll assume not
You’ll want adequate depth of field, but on a point and shoot cam you don’t have to worry too much about it.
If you want shots that are consistent, then shoot in manual mode. You should be able to choose a pretty big aperture (low number). F/2.8 – F/4 should be fine.
Shutter speed should be pretty quick, but not at the expense of a very high ISO. Keep the ISO between 100 – 200 for good results. Shutter speed shouldn’t drop below 1/60th for good crisp images. Better yet up around 1/100th – 1/200th.
Work on lighting, see if you can diffuse your flash (if you’re using it).
