I need an inexpensive color ID card system and some ID card holograms. I have found color ID printers but they are far too expensive. I can buy color laser printers for $200 so a photo ID cards system should not costs several thousand dollars.

Also, all the ID card holograms I fine are sold by everyone so they don’t offer any security. Without paying hundreds of dollars for a custom hologram, where can I find single source ID card hologram overlays?

im homeschooled so i dont have a school id and i dont have my drivers license. and i NEED a photo id. within 4 weeks!.. so im applying at the DMV for one. i know it could take up to 60 days but does it really ever take that long??? my dad said he got his license in 2 weeks. how long did it take for you??

about two weeks is right! DMV will give you a paper copy that is adequate to use until your actual card arrives. Bay Area Here

i lost my id on my 19 birthday and got a temporary id. I have my card from school and it has my picture on it with my name. would i be able to get into a bar with that and my temp drivers license as well?

I can’t really say for Grey Hound because I don’t use that mode of transportation. Which type of train? I know for the subway and the Metro North, Pathway, NJ Transit type of trains you definitely do not need a photo ID to purchase a ticket. In most of those stations there are ticket booths as well as ticket machines to purchase tickets. For the Metro-North you can also purchase your ticket off of the MTA website.

I know David, I agree with you but I dont understand why they want this ID card apart from the green card.

You cut it pretty close, but last time I got mine it arrived a week later.

It’s just a guess, but maybe they want you to get it so that you’ll have a second form of identification after you complete the citizenship process and the greencard is no longer valid?

Do you have a passport or visa? What government agency can issue you a picture I.D. card? Here in the United States, you can buy one at the Department of Motor Vehicles (place where you get your driver’s license). I would go to the government offices and find out what documents you need in order to obtain a government issued picture I.D. I would not worry too much as you still have some time before your trip. However I would get this issue resolved as soon as possible.

you can get a passport. applications should be at your local post office. or i.d. (yes, with photo) from dept. of motor vehicles – they issue i.d.s that are not driver’s licenses.

She is out of work and can’t even get food stamps because she needs some type of photo ID. She went to the DMV to try and get a State ID but she still needs some type of ID just to get that. The first thing she needs is to get a copy or her birth certificate- call any government office in the phone book and they will tell you where you need to go to get the copy mad-It’s done by computer and only takes minutes. call the ssi office and they can send a copy of the ssi number to your friend.
Armed with the birth certificate she should be able to get the photo and drivers license from the state and that should get her the id she needs for the food stamps

well actually its not valid, but yes it works sometimes at small airports, but try to carry original id card if possible as airports in metro cities like delhi, mumbai do not accept photocopy of id card.

So I know under California Civil Code § 1747.08, it is unlawful to request this information at any time during a transaction in which a credit card it tendered, even if the customer is not required to provide it. Businesses can ask to see identification, but cannot write the information down.

So that means that merchants are allowed to require identification when using a credit card, HOWEVER, if your credit card has your picture already printed on it, doesn’t that count as your identification, and are you still required to show them your Driver’s License or ID if your picture is clearly there on the card?
The only reason I’m asking is because a couple of times I’ve just stuck my credit card (with my picture on it) in my pocket instead of carrying everything around with me…then for instance, I was at a bowling alley, I went to buy some nachos and she absolutely refused to process my transaction without seeing my ID…my effing picture was right there on it. Ticked me off quite a bit.

Yea thats why they put photos on there. So you won’t have to show other ids. But stores might have extra procedures on their own just in case. I guess. But I think for large transactions you would want people checking IDs even if it has photo on it.

It is inconvenient, but the store might have had some experience with ID theft. Or the area. Or could be just store policy. I can tell you you’ll be lot more pissed if someone got away with ID theft because they were good at putting photos on credit card.

Only US citizens can vote in US elections. Having a Bangalore id is less than helpful here.

If you have an old style driving licence, then you should be able to obtain a photo licence for free.
You should obtain a photo from one of the photo kiosks at your local supermarket, or send a recent photo (head and shoulders only). You will need to have the photo certified by somone who has known you for at lease 2 years. This could be your local Postmaster, Doctor, Dentist, Optician, anyone in authority or professional status. You can obtain a form to send off from your local Post Office or download a form from the DVLA website. The DVLA will then send you a photo licence and this will also be your ID for future use.

Is it possible to use an Indian Status card as photo ID to purchase alcohol at a liquor store? I mean it has Photo ID, your name, and your birthday, and I’m pretty sure it’s sanctioned by the government.

go to the DVM. You’ll need a birth certificate or credit card or mail that has your address and proof of who you are. They will give you a non drivers ID – that’s what i got, you just fill out the paperwork – give them like 10 bucks and they take a picture. go in the morning if possible when its less busy. Your state’s DVM website will have more on exactly what you’ll need to bring and the exactly cost. Easy Peasy

It really depends on where you live but I would recommend that you take your birth certificate along with your expired one ID……

if you book an e-ticket from IRCTC, Online travel agencies or any other travel agent who is using services from IRCTC then you need to carry a valid photo identity card along with your reservation slip. In case of i-ticket, its just a normal ticket booked on counter but gets delivered at your address, there is no need to carry identity proof.

Put it in a safe place. While destroying it is an option, if you ever lose your wallet, you are going to need something to get all your identification replaced. Having an expired ID will help expedite the process, and make it ALOT less painful.
