What does a minor (17 years), who is traveling by themselves, need to show for identification at the airport?
*I’m flying with SunCountry if it makes a difference.
Despite having received a thumbs-down, Charlie’s answer is correct. In the US, passengers under the age of 18 do not need to show any form of ID in order to fly on domestic flights, according to the information on the page linked below. If you have any form of ID, it won’t hurt to bring it — even if it’s something like a school ID — but they’re not going to deny you boarding if you don’t have it.
Note that if you are flying to one of Sun Country’s international destinations (Mexico, Jamaica, or the UK), then you will be denied boarding if you do not present a passport.

People under 18 are not required to show I.D…..see site below. If you have a photo I.D. like a state I.D. card or a student I.D. card, it is wise to carry it.

Photo I.D. They want to make sure you are the same name as on the ticket.

School ID photo ID should be fine, since there aren’t really any ID restrctions for minors. If you already have a drivers license, that would be better.
It is generally recommended by the airlines that all minors traveling by themselves bring some kind of photo ID that has their first, last names and a portrait of them (like a school ID card) for safety reasons. I flew domestically after Sept. 11th happened as an unaccompanied minor and the airline along with security accepted my current (then) school ID.

You don’t need any ID since you are under 18. However, if you have a school ID or something similar, you better carry it just in case. If you have a driver’s license/permit or passport, bring that.
Have a great trip!
