The standard ID in Mexico is your photo voter identification card. Why don’t we require some form of identification to vote here? It would greatly reduce voter fraud, so why do we just go on the honor system for voting? I’m sure liberals would hate the idea of any form of identification being required to enter the voting booth, but it would keep everything fair and honest. Why not require free, photo voter ID cards to vote?

I’ve yet to hear a valid argument against the voter IDs. Keep in mind, the democrats love to receive votes from…… illegals and the deceased!!

ID’s should be required, but I’m against them being free. $50 is reasonable.

Remember the health care debate. Nothing is free. Someone has to pay for these ID cards.

Beyond that, it would take a measure of really looking at voter fraud. If it’s a low incidence than the costs out weigh the benefits.

I have no problem with this, as long as it can be issued at any voting sites.

It eliminates my objection to poll taxes (which are never "reasonable"), and if it were either good for life or could be gotten by those in nursing homes, I have no objection to this. The elderly should not be disenfranchised for failure to make regular trips to a county seat. Most driver’s licenses expire on a regular basis to either increase profits or to make sure the police have current addresses.

Given the popularity of such "fees" in certain circles, I doubt free ID is coming anytime soon.

Where I vote you have to show either your voter registration card or a state-issued photo ID (i.e. driver’s license) which they then check against the voter registration records. Where do you vote that you don’t have to have identification?

if you walk around in your own country you should not have to carry a birth certificate. and stop lying! you know you didn’t read the bill. if im a mexican american driving to where i got to go, i am going to be stoped by the Police and asked for my id and so on. hell i could be stoped EVERYDAY by different police men and asked if i am a U.S citizen. or mabe even twice a day. half the times they would suspect your id is fake,or/and wont les you go. what if you lost or forgot your id at home? he’s where the problems come in to play. if i should be asked for my citizenship, then so should the every other race. i should not have my valuable time wasted by the cops harassing me, and cops targeting mexicans. there are black mexicans and white mexicans too. so if you send a mexican kid out to go get ice cream, or play in the playground park they are going to be asked by intimidating cops, ”where were you born?.” now that just ridiculous. and so is arizona. you better hope that this doesn’t happen in other states, because if it does, it could become a U.S law.

now you think about that before you agree with something like that.
