'Biometrics' is currently available as a vendor supplied utility (up through Vista).
Windows 7 will have biometrics incorporated, as a multi-function security utility for the entire Windows OS.
If you have yet to buy a new system, perhaps if you wait for "7" there will be a greater range of functionality & diversity.
