I just bought this computer today, it has a 300 watt power supply, and i already upgraded the ram to 8gb. What is the best graphic card that this computer can handle with out changing the factory power supply? I do not plan on buying a better power supply for this desktop.

the owner’s manual should have the information.if not,you could call and ask them.

That is an ok computer. If you want any serious graphics cards, you will definitely need to swap your PSU (power supply unit).
You can easily get a "GeForce 9800 GTX" in (which is a great card). That would be about 50x as good as the pre-installed one.
The "Radeon HD 4850" is roughly equivalent to the 9800GTX, however uses more power.

its a nice neat base unit. The PSU will have to be replaced, you just cant put anything with any teeth on it without expecting it to go pop at some point.
make sure you get a good branded power supply, TAGEN, OCZ, AKASA, ENERMAX, ANTEC, five of the best manufacturers of bullet proof power supplies and models to suit all budgets. available from newegg.com (i would get 480 watt minimum)
As for graphics card, well you have a quad core and 4 gig of ram, I personally would go out and get a second hand 4870 512 mb for $100, or brand new off newegg.com for $154.99. The 4870 is a revolutionary beast because its always been so cheap yet stupidly powerful. Ive had mine now for 14 months, I got modern warfare 2 yesterday, im running it at 1680X1050 full anti aliasing, full graphical effects options, full textures,
No slow down.
I have yet to find a game it has trouble eating… but in six months when i can pick up a second hand 4870 for $80, I will simply drop a second one in my system and forget about upgrading for another year.
