Some pinhead law maker in Illinois has introduce a bill that would require every gun owner in the state to purchase 1,000,000 dollars worth of liability insurance for any potential damage that you might do with your gun, or guns.
This is a classic back channel way of taking your rights away. Yes you can have your right, but it is going to cost you. And I always thought the democrats were for the poor guy, but I guess they’re only for them when it comes to enslaving them to the government. And if you are going to be enslaved someone to the government, then I guess you would prefer them to be unarmed. It’s hard to argue with their logic. I’m sure that since Obama is from the same state, he too would have logic like this meat-head.

An Illinois state lawmaker is proposing that gun owners be required to carry personal liability insurance of at least $1 million.
Rep. Kenneth Dunkin’s bill seeks to amend the state’s Firearm Owners Identification Card Act to provides that any person who owns a firearm in the state maintain a $1 million or higher policy of liability insurance “specifically covering any damages resulting from negligent or willful acts involving the use of such firearm while it is owned by such person.”
A gun owner would be responsible after a firearm is lost or stolen until the loss or theft is reported to the police department or sheriff of the jurisdiction in which the owner resides.
Police would be empowered to pull the gun license of anyone who does not submit evidence of having the required insurance.
The measure is now in the House Rules Committee.

An insurance policy that increases risk
The Chi-Town Political Machine is flexing its gunhating muscles once more. The latest in your face harassment of Illinois’ “law-abiding” gun owners comes from Representative Kenneth Dunkin:
House Bill 687…would force all of those individuals to obtain a $1 million liability insurance policy. This policy would cover any damages that take place from the use of a firearm owned by the individual.
The bill also authorizes the Department of the State Police to revoke and seize the identification card from any firearm owner that does not supply proof of the liability coverage to the Department.
So he’s got you! If you abide by the state’s restrictive firearms laws and this passes, you’ll either need to be able to pony up for coverage, or lose the means to defend yourself and your loved ones in your own home. If you can’t afford it, too bad.
But gee, you’d think with all those restrictive firearms laws, including being one of only two states with no provision for concealed carry, that Illinois would be the most peaceful of places–particularly in cities like Chicago, where you can’t even own a handgun unless you’ve been grandfathered in for decades (or you’re one of the political elites).
You’d think.
And, of course, none of the worthies actually causing all the violence Rep. Dunkin postures he’s concerned about are “legally” in possession of handguns, have FOID cards or will get insurance. But somehow, by putting extra burdens on everyone who is not responsible, Chi-Town will magically transform into the Sarah Brady Paradise we’ve all been expecting it to be.
So according to this…this guardian of freedom, public safety will be enhanced by making it more difficult for good citizens to defend themselves. That and by turning them into “gun criminals” if they get fed up with trying to comply and just start keeping and bearing arms as free men and women have a right to do…

Anyone in Illinois please contact me, they will be passing an ault weapons ban tomorrow for Illinois (It will probably go though).
I am done giving money to the NRA and protesting, we DO NOT have a voice.
Our Constitution gives us the RIGHT to own weapons, including AR weapons. I am not asking the State Government to not pass this, if they do, they are violating my rights as an American Citizen and I will consider them a tyrant, I am done playing around now.

Any law, I repeat, ANY law that restricts (Infringes) any American citizen from owning a firearm is unconstitutional and therefore those who gives into these restrictions is volunteering to give up there right under the constitution.
